TOPEKA, Kan. WC Vision today announced that StopTech, a leading innovator of world-class brake components and systems for production-based racing cars and high performance vehicles, has been named the Official Brake System of the World Challenge Championships. As the Official Brake System of World Challenge, all series teams will have the option of using StopTech brake systems. As part of the partnership, the StopTech logo will also appear on all World Challenge number boards.

StopTech was the first aftermarket brake company to offer Balanced Brake Upgrades™ for production cars, engineered to dramatically improve overall braking performance while remaining compatible with the stock original equipment (OE) rear brakes.  Now a worldwide leader, StopTech has more than 700 platform offerings and holds a string of patents for brake technology that provide shorter stopping distances, better brake modulation, firmer pedal feel and less brake fade resulting in stronger, more reliable performance on and off the track.

StopTech big brake kits are already found on several World Challenge vehicles.  James Sofronas rode his GMG Racing Porsche to numerous first place finishes, podium visits, and pole position starts on StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kits, as did Dino Crescentini, CEO of StopTech.

“World Challenge is very pleased to partner with StopTech as the Official Brake System of World Challenge,” said Scott Bove, Director of Operations, WC Vision. “A number of World Challenge teams over the last number of seasons have partnered with StopTech and it was a natural progression to align the series with this premier brake company.”

“It has been no secret that StopTech’s overall goal is to squeeze as much braking power as the driver needs out of production based racing vehicles,” notes Dino Crescentini, the StopTech CEO who also has three career World Challenge GT victories.  “So it is probably no surprise that the World Challenge has always been on StopTech’s radar and that this is a perfect match for all involved.”

The World Challenge is North America’s top production car-based racing championship. Divided into three separate classes (World Challenge GT, World Challenge GTS, and World Challenge Touring Car), races follow a sprint format and are 50 minutes start to finish. Each race features thrilling standing starts, adrenaline filled door-to-door action, and top-notch drivers. Drivers pilot cars from the world’s most popular manufacturers, featuring race-prepped versions of the cars we drive on the streets. The World Challenge is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing and races at North America’s premier road and temporary street courses. For more information on World Challenge, visit www.world-challenge.com.
