Nitron Performance Shocks

Every Nitron shock is built using the ultimate in quality precision components, each of which has undergone an extensive and rigorous design and development program to ensure optimum performance. Nitron shocks are designed using a modular system which allows maximum flexibility throughout the development of each application. Each individual component is machined to exacting standards and individually inspected by trained technicians as part of a strict quality control process.

Through extensive testing of all new materials, finishes and processes and by combining technologies unique to Nitron, every shock is built to outperform and outlast its competitors, be it on the road or the track. Only by maintaining these high standards can Nitron ensure that customers experience the very ultimate suspension available.

For cars, Nitron offers three suspension implementations, in both EDC / PASM systems, and full mechanical systems:
– R3
– R1, and
– RoadSport

Nitron NTR elecTRON Suspension System

The evolution of the Nitron range is here. By combining the world renowned Nitron quality and attention to detail with the latest electronic valve technology – the elec-TRON range is born.
The use of Nitron’s proportional solenoid valve in each shock gives a high level of precision and control in the damping system. Each shock absorber in the Nitron elec-TRON system is equipped with its own valve, allowing for independent damping control of each wheel, crucial for optimized handling, stability and ride comfort. The system can precisely adjust the damping force based on various factors such as g-load conditions, vehicle speed, road conditions and driver input resulting in super accurate and responsive damping, enhancing the overall performance of the vehicle.
The Nitron elec-TRON system offers flexibility in its application by providing two main options:
Standalone Electronic Damping System: Users have the option to install the Nitron elec-TRON suspension kit as a standalone electronic damping system. This means that if your vehicle does not come equipped with an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) electronic damping system like BMW’s EDC or Porsche’s PASM, you can now benefit from the advanced damping control offered by the Nitron’s elec-TRON system. The Nitron DCU (Damper Control Unit) unit is included as part of this system and features a selectable damping control via an adjustment knob.
Integration with OEM Electronic Systems: For vehicles already equipped with OEM electronic damping systems such as BMW’s EDC or Porsche’s PASM, the Nitron elec-TRON suspension kit is designed to work in conjunction with these. This integration allows users to retain full functionality of the OEM controls, while also benefiting from the added capabilities and precision offered by the Nitron elec-TRON system. In this case, the Nitron system complements and enhances the performance of the existing OEM system.
With the choice of either using the vehicle’s original damper control unit, or using Nitron’s DCU, the following suspension kit packages are available:

elec-TRON-R3 Coilover Kit

The elec-TRON-R3 coilover kit combines the Nitron proportional solenoid valve with independent manual compression control. Designed for enthusiasts or professionals looking to further optimize their vehicle’s suspension performance for more extreme driving conditions and a higher level of performance. Piggyback or remotely mounted reservoirs allow quick and simple independent adjustment of high-speed and low-speed compression damping.

elec-TRON-R1 Coilover Kit

The elec-TRON-R1 coilover kit utilizes the Nitron proportional solenoid valve with all of the damping control being carried out by the control system. This kit includes our adjustable top mounts and uses our race springs, which in turn gives you the ultimate adjustment for a perfect geometry setup.

elec-TRON-RoadSport Coilover Kit

The elec-TRON-RoadSport coilover kit offers many of the same benefits of our elec-TRON-R1 kit but is more road orientated and is developed with a formed spring that works with the OEM top mount.

NTR R3 SYSTEMS

The NTR R3 system sets the standard for ultimate performance with its 3-Way independent damping adjustment and ride height adjustment capabilities. Engineered with a large diameter 46mm piston and ultra-strong piston rod, the R3 system delivers exceptional damping control and adjustment flexibility. It features piggyback or remotely mounted reservoirs for independent adjustment of rebound, fast compression, and slow compression damping, allowing experienced drivers to fully exploit their vehicle’s potential on both road and track.
The high-grade materials and finishes protect against corrosion whilst reducing weight. Every R3 kit is custom built, sprung and fully serviceable.

NTR R1 SYSTEM

The NTR R1 system represents a pinnacle of performance and value, offering drivers precise damping control with a straightforward design.
This kit fits the BMW 1-Series, 2-Series, and 3-Series F20, F21, F22, and F30 generations.
It features a different size rear spacer, top pin, and a smaller sleeve on the front (57mm) compared to the M-variant of the kit.

NTR RoadSport System

The Nitron NTR RoadSport system offers exceptional performance and value, designed to provide drivers with versatile and effective damping control.
Developed from our full race suspension and sharing many components with the Nitron R1 coilover kit and Nitron R3 coilover kit, the Nitron RoadSport kit utilises the OE top mount and will always follow the OE rear suspension type, serving a balance between ultimate performance and ultimate comfort.

STANDALONE ELECTRONIC DAMPING SYSTEM
elec-TRON DCU (Damper Control Unit)


The Nitron DCU allows you to transform your shock set up from passive damping to a semi active system. Nitron’s elec-TRON valve is continually adjusting the damping levels every 5 milliseconds, depending on the information it receives from the DCU. The DCU decides what position the valve should be in (and therefore what damping levels are created) by assessing all the data it receives about the car, its attitude and the forces acting on it (braking, cornering and accelerating).

By fitting a DCU in conjunction with elec-TRON shock absorbers, your vehicle not only benefits from having extremely high performance Nitron dampers, but these dampers are constantly adjusting themselves to provide you with optimised levels of grip and comfort. The DCU is fitted with an adjustable control knob, which allows the user to access a number of pre-installed damping maps such as Rain, Tour, Sport, and Race for their specific vehicle. Damping will continue to be constantly optimised, but the overall damping levels will be determined by the user’s selection.

NITRON PASM / EDC INTEGRATION

The Nitron elecTRON systems also work in a “plug and play” implementation with your cars stock PASM or EDC systems. No need to change, alter, add to anything, just install the Nitron electTRON suspension system, and plug into your existing suspension wiring harness.  The stock features of your car are retained (shock valving changes with your chosen car “mode” (like comfort, sport, sport +).  You can also replace your standard PASM or EDC control module w a DSC control module, and now have independent software control of your suspension system.
